![]() ![]() On the Mac client side, Microsoft announced this week that its Skype for Business Mac client is still at the private preview stage and Microsoft is not seeking more participants (it currently has. Its features are similar to those of Skype for Business but usually are more limited in scope; for example, consumer Skype supports 25 people on a conference call versus 250 in Skype for Business. The nomination portal for Skype for Business Macintosh client has been opened: • Skype for Business Pre-release Test Drive Enrollment The site has a new re-design and is set up as a customer self-service site. Enterprise customers with Microsoft representation will want to sign up under “ Does your Organization have a valid Microsoft NDA”. Note that this is a nomination process only. Timeline: • After you complete the nomination form, the Product Group will take 2 weeks for review and decision • The Skype for Business Mac Client will be released to accepted customers the first week of March • All future emails will come from the Product Group to the customer. Abstract: building a whitelist / allow list or block some Lync / Skype clients might be a hard work as there exist no complete or up to date list in the internet which list all (or nearly all) possible user-agent strings.
